The Co-Captain of Team Discraft…

The whirlwind journey of Missy Gannon is one that could rival a movie script (I mean, if Hollywood did disc golf dramas!).

Can you believe it’s been less than 10 years since she threw her first disc?

And now she's lighting up the charts, sitting pretty as the No. 3 player in the global rankings.

What?! 🤩

Flashback to 2014.

A casual day out with her pals, Ben and Tom, Missy tries disc golf and...well, she wasn’t exactly the star player.

But here's where the plot thickens.

Instead of giving up, our heroine moves to Colorado, a veritable mecca for disc golf enthusiasts.

And guess what?

The rest, as they say, is history.

Fast forward a bit, and Missy's 2017 podium finish at the PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships is her cinematic turning point.

She tells us, “It was the confidence boost I needed to hit the road and dive into the world of professional disc golf.”

No spoiler alert here—she's been tearing up the course ever since.

Her first big moment?

Winning the 2022 Ledgestone Open!

Missy spills the beans on why it meant so much:

  • Massive player turnout.

  • Tackling the notoriously challenging Northwood Black.

  • Competing against a strong FPO field.

And folks, she rallied to a spectacular 6-stroke win over Paige Pierce.

  • No one can deny she’s one of the best. Her 2023 season? She finished top 10 in 20 of 23 events she played in. Talk about consistency!!

  • Away from the green, she's a rock-climbing enthusiast and a die-hard fan of 'The Office'. (Which character do you think she'd be? Dwight, maybe? 😜)

In 2021, Missy crushed it, setting the record for all-time FPO single-season earnings—a whopping $67,029!

To the naysayers, I say, look at the data!

Her results are a testament to her incredible skill.

A moment of seriousness, folks: Missy's rapid rise to fame is a testament to sheer determination, skill, and passion.

She might have come to the party a tad late at 26, but she's dancing like nobody's watching and owning that floor.

Last, but certainly not least, the cherry on top: Missy’s contract with Discraft has been running strong and ends this year in 2023! It will be very interesting to see what Discraft does to retain the #3 FPO player in the world.

Since she’s the team captain, we can only assume it’s getting renewed, right?
