Who is Simon Lizotte:
Alright, disc golf enthusiasts!

Here’s a slice of Lizotte's life.

Our man's chilling in the U.S. now, but guess what?
He's got those German roots, with a dash of Canadian flair.

Recently, Simon got nostalgic and spilled the beans in a chat with Yorkton This Week.

Picture this:
Mama Lizotte, young and adventurous, lands in Canada for an exchange program. Amidst the chilly vibes, she bumps into Papa Lizotte.

What follows?

Fireworks!

An older bro pops up in the Canadian scene, and, as Simon cheekily admits, “I started off as a Canadian idea.” But Mama L’s homesickness kicks in, so off they zoom to Germany for what was supposed to be a “year-ish” vacay.

Yet, plot twist!

The Lizotte family LOVED Germany and thought, “Why not stay?”

Fast-forward a bit… Simon is born and starts growing up knee-deep in the disc golf world.

Thanks to whom? Papa L.

“Back in the 80s, way before disc golf was the ‘it’ game, Dad and Uncle were tossing around these super old-school discs…” Lizotte laughs.

These guys were the real MVPs, creating makeshift courses in parks, streets—you name it.

Today?

Simon's dad is still a disc golf fanatic.
"The dude might even out-throw me,” Simon jests.

Thanks to his dad’s passion, Simon was flinging discs before he even knew how to tie his shoelaces.

“Best times ever are always with my old man," he muses.

Teenage Simon was hitting up tournaments left, right, and center. Road trips to the real deal courses became the norm, leading up to Papa Lizotte setting up a hometown course.

Growing up, Simon became the showstopper.

Germany’s cramped space?

No sweat for him.

But stateside, disc golf has come into its prime.

With Lizotte making waves overseas, tossing discs past 900 feet, and clocking in some serious speeds (think: 89mph!), he decides it’s time to get real and play on the DGPT.

Always the entertainer, he admits, "It's more than just the show for me.”

What's his secret sauce?

“I’ve lived and breathed Disc Golf since forever, there’s no going back” he grins…

Being tall and long-armed?

“That’s just the cherry on top.” he smirked.

But, the sport's left some battle scars for Simon.
At 30, the game’s physical toll has made an appearance for Simon, but he chuckles and admits he’s got the best decade of disc golf ahead of him.

"I can't see myself doing anything else. Disc golf? It's life, right?"

Now boasting one of Disc Golf’s ALL TIME best sponsorships, Simon is set to soar! 🥏🤘
