š Unlocking Easy Distance in Disc Golf:
The Lightweight Disc Secret
This is a game-changing secret that's both simple and scientifically backed.
Ready to add some effortless distance to your throws?
Read on!
A Game-Changer Discovery
Three years ago, Melissa and I fell in love the sport. In an effort to āNOT SUCKā I turned to "in the bag" videos for guidance.
The first one I watched featured Avery Jenkins emphasizing max-weight discs.
His rationale?
They're less wind-affected and can handle more power.
My ego and I were instantly convinced, but little did I know, this advice wasn't the golden ticket I thought it was.
š” The Eye-Opening Hack: Lightweight Discs
Here's the big reveal I realized not too long agoā¦
For distance, opt for lightweight discs, ideally between 167 and 172 grams.
This might seem trivial, but the impact is huge.
At first, I thought to myself that Iād be called a āWussyā for throwing lightweight discs, but as youāve observed in playing, your buddies NEVER ask you how much a disc weighs, do they?
They donāt care.
They just want to throw further than you and use the same discs the pros throw.
So drop the ego, if youāre ready to gain a BUNCH more distance.
The Science Behind It
As you probably already know, the key to distance is the speed and spin of the disc upon release.
Heavier discs demand more power for sustained spin.
This means you have to be stronger to throw heavy discs further!
Lighter discs?
Easier to spin, easier to fly far.
For EVERYONE WHO THROWS PLASTIC!
This is not just my experience - it's a physics-backed fact.
Proof from the Pros
Many top FPO players and even MPO pros like Philo Brathwaite and Garrett Gurthie are embrace lighter discs for their distance throws.
Brathwaite's signature 168-gram Star Destroyer, for instance, is proof that lighter can indeed go farther.
Your Turn to Fly Far
It's time to rethink your disc selection.
Lighten up your drivers and watch them soar.
This isn't just a tip, it's a transformation.
Get out there and experience the difference!
