PLUS: Another chance to win the giveaway!
We’re already into the 3rd week of the 2024! 🥏
Hoping you all got a chance to throw at least 1 time this week.
Huge shout out to our buddy, Randy Isgriggs…
He just started a Disc Golf Disc business.
He bought himself a kick ass van, and filled it with a BUNCH of amazing collector discs (that you should own), and is working on potentially starting a weekly travel league.
He will be showing up at Sunset Park here in Las Vegas on weekends.
If you live here, and you see his van, go say hi, check out his gear and grab a new disc! 🙂
The inside peek at Randy’s new Disc Golf Bus Store!
And for those of you who don’t know Randy, here’s a pic of him and one of his kiddos AND the outside of his bus….
Go find him!! 🚀
And now, into the content we go for this week!
🚀 Let’s Talk Rules: The Basics
As you know, the rules were established long, long ago.
However, these are the ones that are most important.
Even if you’re a seasoned pro, it never hurts to continue with refreshers, right?
🌟 The Objective of the Game 🌟
Just like the mini-golf you play with your family, Disc Golf is all about getting your colorful disc into a metal basket with as few throws as possible.
Think of it like a fun journey where every throw gets you closer to winning!
The player who uses the fewest throws to complete the course is the champion! 🏆
🛡️ Safety First 🛡️
Safety is super important! 🌟
Never throw your disc if there are people or animals where you're aiming.
Always let others in the park go first, and keep your eyes open like a superhero looking out for danger!
In the case where people have parked their picnic near a basket, A simple “Heads Up” is sufficient to warn them.
I’m sure you may have had other encounters…
I have many, but using common sense, kindness, and approaching others the way you’d want to be approached and alerted is the right way to do it!
🚀 Tee Throws 🚀
Every adventure begins at a starting point, right?
In disc golf, each hole starts with a tee throw. Imagine it as your launchpad to disc golf fun!
You must throw from within or just behind the special tee area. 🎯
📍 The Lie 📍
After each throw, your disc lands at a spot called the 'lie'.
You can mark this spot with a mini disc, like planting a tiny flag.
When “marking your lie”, place your mini marker (flag) directly in front of your disc between the forward most edge ensuring it’s in line with the basket.
You can then move your disc.
When you throw, your front foot must land within a 12”x12” square directly behind your marker.
Your next throw is like an arrow shooting straight from behind this tiny flag. 🏹
🔄 Throwing Order 🔄
Did you know the player with the fewest throws on the last hole gets to start the next one?
It's like getting a head start in a race!
And always remember, the player whose disc is farthest from the basket throws first.
Continue with the person furthest from the basket throwing first, until all players have made their disc into the basket. 🌪️
🌾 Fairway Throws 🌾
When you're in the fairway, throw from right behind your lie.
You can even take a run-up!
But, if you're really close to the basket (like 10 big steps away), you have to throw without moving past your lie.
It's like trying to tiptoe close to a sleeping dragon! 🐉
NOTE: There is a 33’ (or 10 meter) circle around the basket that is designated as C1 (Circle 1) and when your disc is within this circle, you are not allowed to step past where your disc has been marked until it lands in the basket.
🚧 Mandatory (Mando) 🚧
Sometimes, you'll see trees or poles with arrows.
These are 'mandos', and you must throw your disc on the side the arrow points to.
If you miss, it's like missing a secret passage in a maze – you'll have to try again! 🌲
And alas, yes, you must add a penalty stroke to your score for that hole.
🎉 Completion Of Hole 🎉
Guess what?
When your disc lands in the basket or hangs in the chains, you've conquered that hole!
It's like finding the treasure at the end of a treasure hunt! 💎
Then just add up the total throws you made on that hole and record it on Udisc.
❌ Out Of Bounds (O.B.) ❌
Beware of the O.B. zones!
If your disc lands in an area that's out of bounds (like water or across a road), your next throw will be from a spot a little bit inside the boundary.
Again, if you throw it O.B., then you must add 1 additional stroke to your score.
Go to the place where the disc crossed the O.B. line, and “step-in” 3 feet and place you mini marker.
It's like stepping back into a safe zone in a game of tag! 🚫

⛳️ How To Putt Like Ricky Wysocki… 🥏
Do you want to putt like a champion?
Today, we're diving into the world of Ricky Wysocki, 2-time World Champion and the 5 PRO tips he shares with others so they can become better putters.
🎯 Tip 1: Find Your Perfect Grip & Stance 🎯
Just like picking your favorite ice cream flavor, finding the right grip and stance in disc golf is all about what feels best for you!
Ricky says, for faraway putts, stand with your feet a bit apart, like you're about to jump.
This helps you swing your arm more and shift your weight for a powerful throw!
💥 Tip 2: Use Your Whole Body 💥
Imagine you're a superhero throwing a power ball – that's how you should putt!
Your arm is like the aim, and your legs are the superpower behind it.
Ricky reminds us to start with our weight on the back foot and finish on our toes.
This gives the disc a big BOOST!
🌟 Tip 3: Swing That Arm Right 🌟
Ricky says the secret sauce in putting is in the forward swing of your arm.
Pretend you're pointing at your favorite star in the sky when you release the disc.
This way, your arm guides the disc to the basket like a magic wand! ✨
✨ Tip 4: Wrist Power ✨
Our wrists are like the rudders of a boat.
They steer the disc!
Ricky suggests using your wrist to spin the disc, but not too much.
It's like adding just enough sprinkles to your ice cream!
🎯 Tip 5: Keep Your Eyes on the Target 🎯
Ricky's final tip is to pick a spot on the basket and focus on it like it's the only thing in the world.
No matter if it's windy or sunny, keep your eyes glued there.
It's like aiming for the bullseye in a game of darts!
🥇 Become a Putting Pro! 🥇
Ricky's tips are like a treasure map to better putting.
I've tried them and they really work!
Everyone’s putting style will have a flavor of uniqueness.
REMEMBER, it’s all about what works for you…
No body else.
Practice these tips and watch yourself get better and better.
And don't forget, you can always re-watch Ricky's video for extra help.
